 Dr. David Lyon is a board certified ophthalmologist with subspecialty training in Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. This area of ophthalmology deals with diseases and abnormalities of the eyelids and face, the lacrimal (tear) system and the orbit (bony cavity surrounding the eye). He performs aesthetic, plastic and reconstructive surgery as it relates to the eyes and surrounding facial structures on patients of all ages.
In
addition to his private practice with Sabates Eye Centers,
Dr. Lyon serves as an Associate Professor of Ophthalmology
at the Eye Foundation of Kansas City / Department of Ophthalmology,
University of Missouri-Kansas City (UMKC) School of Medicine.
His faculty responsibilities include teaching ophthalmology
residents in ophthalmic plastic surgery and conducting clinical
research. He has authored numerous scientific papers, journal
articles and textbook chapters on many aspects of his subspecialty.
