Dr.
Mahendra Rupani specializes in comprehensive ophthalmology
at Sabates Eye Centers. He received his bachelors from Royal
College, Nairobi, Kenya and his medical degree in 1966 from
Darbhanga Medical College in India. After serving various
internships and residencies in medicine and surgery in Great
Britain, he followed with internships in pathology at the
Cook County Hospital, Chicago Illinois, as well as the Albert
Einstein College of Medicine Hospital, New York City, and
the Bronx Municipal Hospital Center, New York City. In 1989
Dr. Rupani received his Fellowship in Ophthalmic Pathology
from the Eye Center, Duke Medical Center, Durham, North Carolina.
Subsequently, he established his final Residency in Ophthalmology
at Truman Medical Center, Kansas City Missouri.
Dr. Rupani’s distinguished list of professional activities,
appointments and authorship’s is literally too lengthy
to enumerate in its entirety. Dr. Rupani was a past consultant
to DATTA (Diagnostic and Therapeutic Technology Assessment)
of the American Medical Association. He served on the membership
committee, International Physicians Task Force, and Member
of Board of Directors of Metropolitan Medical Society of Kansas
City. He also serves as Clinical Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology,
and Associate Professor of Pathology, School of Medicine,
University of Missouri, Kansas City.
Dr. Rupani has been published on many papers in the past two
decades regarding various issues related to ophthalmologic
pathology.
