Sabates Eye Centers is looking for a Front Desk Specialist at our University Health location, located in Midtown near Truman Hospital and Children’s Mercy Hospital. This person will be responsible for greeting and checking in patients, verifying patient demographics, scheduling appointments, and providing an exceptional patient experience.

Sabates Eye Centers is seeking an experienced, customer service oriented professional to provide scheduling support in our Call Center. This position will work on our main line to take demographics, setup patient accounts and schedule appointments. You must have a proven track record of scheduling with a great attention to detail. Good organizational skills, computer proficiency and excellent communication skills are requirements of this individual as well. This is a high-volume call center environment but is not a “scripted” call center position. Although we do receive a high volume of calls, this is not a “bull pin” environment. The Call Center employees 8 individuals who work together as a team to provide excellent customer service to all who call our company.

Sabates Eye Centers is looking for a dedicated medical biller with experience managing healthcare claims and focusing on patient collections. Our team of medical billers review patient accounts throughout the revenue cycle in our electronic medical record system. A strong candidate will have the following qualifications:

  • Strong Collections experience.
  • Revenue Cycle Management (verification through collections & AR)
  • Proficient in Electronic Medical Records data entry and review.
  • Understanding of ICD 10 coding and Medicare guidelines.
  • Strong customer service skills with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong attention to detail, commitment to service, and ability to follow through on assigned responsibilities.
  • Previous work in optometry and ophthalmology is preferred but not required.

Sabates Eye Centers is seeking an Insurance Verification Specialist. The Insurance Verification/Payment Specialist is a crucial part of the healthcare team here at Sabates Eye Centers as they are the person responsible for coordinating between the patients’ needs and their insurance companies to help ensure the patient is getting the best care available. With the number of patients seen daily at SEC, this position requires the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Candidate must have a knowledge and understanding of co-insurance, co-payments, deductible, and out-of-pockets. Be able to verify patient insurance eligibility/benefits, acquire pre-determination/prior authorization, confirm facility compatibility. Document patient benefits and calculate patient out of pocket amounts as well as be comfortable with the collection and processing of pre-payments and balances due for procedures.
