Ophthalmic Technician – Research Department

Sabates Eye Centers is currently recruiting for an Ophthalmic Technician in their Research Department. This person must already be an experienced ophthalmic technician.

This technician would be scheduled at our Leawood, Ks. location and be dedicated to research clinical tasks, such as : visual acuities, OCT’s, and photography. This technician must be willing to help coordinators with prep, data entry, inventory and supply ordering, recruitment and anything else that is needed when not involved in clinical tasks.

Medical Front Desk – Leawood Location

Excellent full-time opportunity exists for someone to provide administrative support in our offices located in Missouri and Kansas. We are looking for a professional to receive patients, update demographics, collect co-pays and balances, complete data entry, and schedule appointments.

Must have outstanding customer service skills, computer knowledge, be detailed oriented and exhibit professionalism for patient interaction. Previous medical experience, exceptional teamwork abilities and bilingual are a definite plus for this candidate.

Medical Front Desk – University Health Location

Sabates Eye Centers is looking for a Front Desk Specialist at our University Health location, located in Midtown near Truman Hospital and Children’s Mercy Hospital. This person will be responsible for greeting and checking in patients, verifying patient demographics, scheduling appointments, and providing an exceptional patient experience.

Availability Monday-Friday required. Bilingual (Spanish) preferred but not required.

Ophthalmology Photographer 

Minimum Six (6) months of experience performing ophthalmic assistant, photographic, or electrophysiology work in an ophthalmology setting

Preferred – Three (3) years of experience performing ophthalmic technician, photographic or electrophysiology related work in an ophthalmology clinic

Licenses and Certifications :

Minimum Within 18 months of hire will achieve certification in ophthalmic sonography, retinal angiography, or other related ophthalmic photography certification

Preferred COT Certification

Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities :

  • Excellent working knowledge of various ophthalmic testing techniques and ophthalmic photography techniques is required, including but not limited to stereo color fundus photography, fluorescein angiography, optical coherence tomography, optic nerve-head analysis, slit-lamp photomicroscopy, and external photography.
  • Computer/keyboard skills are required.
  • Intermediate skill with computer programs in common usage, including MS-Office programs, email and Internet, preferred.

Scheduling Specialist

Sabates Eye Centers is seeking an experienced, customer service oriented professional to provide scheduling support in our Call Center. This position will work on our main line to take demographics, setup patient accounts and schedule appointments. You must have a proven track record of scheduling with a great attention to detail. Good organizational skills, computer proficiency and excellent communication skills are requirements of this individual as well. This is a high-volume call center environment but is not a “scripted” call center position. Although we do receive a high volume of calls, this is not a “bull pin” environment. The Call Center employees 8 individuals who work together as a team to provide excellent customer service to all who call our company.

Bi-lingual Scheduling Specialist

Sabates Eye Centers is seeking an experienced, customer service oriented bi-lingual professional to provide scheduling support in our Call Center. Good organizational skills, computer proficiency and excellent communication skills are requirements of this individual as well. Sabates Eye Centers is looking for a dedicated medical biller with experience managing healthcare claims and focusing on patient collections. Our team of medical billers review patient accounts throughout the revenue cycle in our electronic medical record system. A strong candidate will have the following qualifications:

  • Strong Collections experience.
  • Revenue Cycle Management (verification through collections & AR)
  • Proficient in Electronic Medical Records data entry and review.
  • Understanding of ICD 10 coding and Medicare guidelines.
  • Strong customer service skills with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong attention to detail, commitment to service, and ability to follow through on assigned responsibilities.
  • Previous work in optometry and ophthalmology is preferred but not required.
